Something bad happening to my children. I am always secretly terrified of this and sometimes can't sleep at night b/c of it, especially since my son went away to college and my daughter started driving, all at the same time. I try to let them grow up, and learn their independence, and not be stifled by my fear, but sometimes it escapes my control and washes over them. I am capable of irrational panic attacks over this fear. I wish I could handle it better, but ever since a friend of mine lost her only child in a stupid skiing accident last year, I am constantly in a state of worry.
