yes i think it should be legalized! i think a drunk is worse than a pothead. here is my reason.... an alcholic gets drunk and suddenly becomes 10 feet tall and bullet proof and you never know what kind of mood a drunk is liable to be in but with a pothead they don't harm anybody, they get high get comfortable and the worse they can do is empty a frig when they get the munchies. so why is alchol legal and not pot?

The same arguments used for why pot is bad also apply to cigarettes, only Pot is far worse. It is addictive, it is carcinogenic (about 20x that of cigarettes) and affects your overall health. The second-hand smoke effects are also worse.
The bottom line is either both should be legal or both should be illegal. We are currently moving toward both being illegal, and as a non-smoker I find this a good direction.
Alcahol has been shown to have positive effects on controlling heart disease (they are working on extracting these properties to a non-alcaholic form). There are also no second hand effects from drinking. The only problems are when people do this to excess and it becomes an addiction or they do something that is illegal after drinking (such as driving). Compared to pot and cigarettes - they have a negative effect on people who are nearby period. |
