Common sense.
Common sense will tell you that this planet got here and was stationed in exactly the needed orbit in order to sustain life by someone with great intelligence and power. To say that everything we know of came about simply because of some "Big Bang" is flat-out ridiculous. If you walked into a forest and came upon a home that was stocked with all sorts of food, would you honestly say that that house got there by means of some "Big Bang"? Definitely not. The house had a designer and a maker.....the same goes for the earth and the entire universe. |

Hope.
Humans are complex; they have a desire to never give up. Even when everything is against you, you want to believe that you can defeat the odds. Kierkegaard talks about this.
Now when you want to believe, you want to believe that there is something out there which will help you defeat the odds. Can't be human because the odds are too hard to beat.
There is a quest for certainity, to believe that you can win. |
