You'll do fine once you get started.
They don't have to be anything elaborate. You just need to say something short, sweet and sincere like:
Thank you for attending my father's funeral.
or
Your donation to <whatever> in his memory is very much appreciated. |

How about something to the tune of "Thank you for coming (or sending flowers/donations/etc). It means a lot to us. He was a great man and will be sorely missed." I don't think some long note is required. These people know that this isn't an easy situation. If it were me, I wouldn't be expecting a thank you note and if I got one, just a simple "thanks" would be enough. |

I think that as hard as it is, you just need to tap into you feelings and be sincere. You could write someone elses words, but that won't be the same. Thank them for their love and support and for their friendship to your Father and family. Think about why you are thankful to these people and that is what you should write in these notes :)

You don't need to write a thank you note for those who came to the funeral. They were paying their respects to your father and his family and that's only appropriate.
For those who sent flowers and made donations, something like this is fine:
"The family of (your father's name) would like to express their appreciation for your very thoughtful (gift of flowers/charitable gift in honor of our loved one.) We graciously welcome the continued celebration of his life."
Please accept my sympathies on your loss. Sometimes having to deal with the practical items can be therapeutic... and I hope this is the case for you as you get through all the afterstuff. |

That's an awfully nice gesture on your part. Don't make a big deal of it. Just keep it short and concise. Express how you feel. My condolences to you. |
