Hire a lawyer, then start getting your resume updated.

If you are in a Union get them on youre case, they are very good at sorting this out . If you are not in an Union join a Union.Get the Department of Trade and Employment on the Case or whatever they call it in youre Country. If nothing is Happening get the Newspapers on it . It looks like you are from the US they hate Unions over there,or else you are an Illegal Alien and you are being Exploited.

You need to file a complaint with the labor board in you state. If necessary, you can also sue for the lost wages and you would also be able to collect interest plus there might be penalties due to you.

I don't know what your relationship is with your employer, but I would also stop working - at least until you received payment. But if you boss is having trouble meeting payroll then it's likely the business won't be around much longer and you should start looking for another job.

Contrary to what some others have said, missing payroll is not an oversight. And it's not something to be polite about. I'm assuming you have already confronted your employer about payment and probably gotten the run around about money not being available. This is your livelihood. After almost 2 months of not getting paid, there is no reason to take a soft stance.

What did the company say when you asked them at the end of the first month of no money?

Contact the payroll department at the company and find out where your money is. Ask them to stop payment on the first checks and issue another one to you and place it in your hand,

Find another job. Go to the nearest temporary employment agency as well as the state unemployment office and apply for work.

First go to the mirror and slap yourself!! Hello, do you want to work for free??? Of course you don't. You need to call the labor board in your state and stop going to work. Make it very clear to you employer that you cannot and will not continue to commit to their cause without being paid. Chances are your employer is getting ready to file bankruptcy and you are not going to get paid anyway so stop working for free and prepare your resume, but be open and honest with them about what you are doing. This way you will get your unemployment and it will be very hard for them (your employer) to fight it. If at all possible try to get them to put something in writing advising you when they intend to pay you for services you have already done. Believe me this will help you out so very, very much. I work for a medical practice that was bought out by a management company that did this to us and it took almost 6 months to get our paychecks, 4 of which bounced and then that took another 3 months. What a nightmare!!! Make sure you document everything, dates, times, who told you what, when, etc.. I wish you luck!!!!

Camila-chan
Ask him/her about it and if you're not liking what you're hearing, just find a new place ahead of time so you don't end up screwing up, and then once you've found another job you like (with better pay, maybe?) then quit your old one. Don't stick w/ a job your not getting paid enough for.

if they havent paid you, you need to talk to them...if they refuse to pay out I say its not worth it quit and get a better job.

Make a complaint your local Dept. of Labor.

flextime
Call the local department of labor or "the labor board" in your city. This should be in the "blue pages" in the telephone book or look it up on the net. You maybe asked to prove that you worked for the wages. If you " clock in and out" this shouldn't be a problem. Find another job in the mean time and refuse to work for him till he pays you. Even people that are fired have the right to recieve their money within 3 days of termination.

flowerchild
call your version of the Labor Board, whatever district or city you live in should have website or something. if it's a big company go to human resources or the payroll company may have an HR dept. and third find another job.good luck

One Start Looking for a job.
Two Start talking to the boss
...try to get an idea when and if you are going to get paid.
Three Start looking for a lawyer.

Now.. there might be some good reasons for this. There might not be.

I had this happen .. and eventually got paid because I handled it well. I did however have to find another job, cause the money wasn't there.

Alexandria
First of all confront your employer politely, and gently remind them of the situation. It could be a genuine oversight, in which case everything is sorted out.

If this fails, try taking a slightly tougher stance on it, something along the lines of 'legally you owe me the money.' If there is someone in authourity above your direct employer try appealing to them.

Resort to legal action only as a last resort, and after all avenues have been exhausted.

Good luck

Well, I hope you're not still working there. You work to get PAID. If you are not getting paid, contact the authorities.

For my next trick...
Ask your boss what's going on. Maybe HR just screwed up.

if you havent got paid for 8 weeks, then i'd say your working for cash money! and if you havent got paid for 8 weeks, then i'd you have a relationship with your employer. your asking for advise because your too nice to even ask him.. ive been there and done that.. just ask nicely, maybe ask hime to give it to you in SUMS,, then once youve got it all. I recommend you nicely quit :)
