Put it in writing and send a copy to your boss and one to human resources.
Bring it up to your boss, sometimes when they have a company doing their payroll, it might not get added, so when they owe you money, you get back pay.
If it's a small business, put it in writing, talk to him and if he laughs or thinks it's not important, report him to the US Department of Labor. |

The Department of Labor enforces the Fair Labor Standards Act. They will MAKE him pay or he will be fined or sent to jail.
That is as long as you qualify for Over Time. Call them and check to see if you qualify and what they can and will do for you. |

well it depends. If your an hourly employee you can not get overtime until you've exceeded 44 hours a week. I would make photo copies of you time card and save you check stubs and bring them to your boss to show that you have not gotten paid overtime. Sometimes your boss must approve overtime. If this is the case you need to ask if you can work overtime before they will pay you for it. If they refuse to pay you your overtime you can report them to the better business Bureau, the state department etc.. |

You could file a complaint with the dept of labor in your home state.
Some states (Vermont, for example) have laws that if a business is in agriculture, then they do not have to pay overtime. I drove trucks hauling lumber, trees, wood chips and bark mulch all of which was considered agriculture. I also worked 75 hours a week and got no overtime. So I would check your states laws regarding overtime first before saying anything. |

Speak to him about it; if he will not pay you the overtime and you qualify for overtime report him to the labor board in your area. It is against the law and he may have to pay penalties. The Fair Labor Standards Act protects workers and must be met. |
