They can't. They can't mint American money, and the only way they could start would be to allow Canadian states to join the Union (that's what America still is, believe it or not, we're actually a Union of individual states). So, to answer answer your question, they would have to become American to incorporate the US dollar as their official currency. That's why European nations created the Euro instead of all using Mark or the Pound. |

Both counties' economies would go to hell. America would lose out on Canadian exports and Canada would lose out on Americans buying Canadian exports.
When our dollar was stronger than the American one this summer, Canadian bussiness suffered because we all went to the states to shop because they have more options than we do. |

Right now, the Canadian dollar is stronger than the USD, so I don't see it happening. We'll be lucky if Canada doesn't go to Euros... |

I doubt that would happen... If there were to be a bi-country currency it would be called a Meri or Amero or something (like the euro). No way would Canada's currency ever say "The United States of America" directly on it... |

that would be AWKWARD .. and i have no clue wut would the americans say bout that |
|

been there done that

there would be a revolution. The Canadian public would not subjugate our economy to the whims of the American currency fluctuations. We are influenced too much now by the US policies and will not allow such a thing to happen. |

i don't think they would b/c they're a providence of the UK. I believe their currency is based off the Euro somehow some way. |
