If the world stopped spinning and the side facing the sun always faced the sun then on one half it would always be day and on the other it would always be night. This would destroy some ecosystems and possibly melt the ice caps on the one side as well as create some nasty droughts. Good thing that won't be happening any time soon!
We would not lose our gravitational pull and float. Our spinning has nothing to do with our gravity. |

This happened long time ago when the Israelites asked GOD to help them to keep on killing a tribe that they did not get along. The profet raised his hands as GOD ordered and the sun stop in midair.. source the BIBLE So if I use the Bible as a reference I get to the conclusion that nothing will happen except perhaps more killings..
I have read somewhere that the Earth used to spin faster before,so the day was shorter.... so eventually the Earth will stop spinning and when that happened several people have already explained it and quite well |

that's a very good question. I think as far as the change in seasons, we would just have whatever season we already have at the time it stops spinning forever.Same thing as far as the time of day. That would be weird though. |
