wolfwomanreturns | What would you do? |
if you came across someone who needed help with a tire. you saw he was having trouble. you're late for an appointment. would you stop and help him or her? if so why? and if not why?

No, I would not stop. However, I would pick up my cell phone and call for help for them if it appeared they needed it. I don't have a clue as to how to change a tire, so me stopping would be useless. |

Not after seeing "Silence of the Lambs", unless the Holy Spirit actually took control over my car and made it pull over. I'm a woman. It also depended if there were kids in the car and if the car was on a busy part of the road, etc, etc... |

I have stopped before and yes I have been late to an appointment because I stopped to help someone. In the large scheme of things, I felt better that I did stop to help, because the woman was on a remote road, and not many cars travel there. I gave her a ride to a gas station. She did not have a cell phone. I was late to my appointment but once I told them this story, my tardiness did not matter at all. |

Depends on the appointment. If I could call and tell the appointment I will be running late then yes I would stop and help. If not I might call the roadside assistance number and see if they could come out and help the person. |

No, I wouldn't but only because I couldn't be of much assistance with a tire problem. Plus, this day and age almost everyone has cellphones that they can use to call for help themselves. |

It depends on how important that appointment is, and how helpful I'm feeling, at the moment. Being in a situation like that of the man in your scenario does suck, but it's generally not a big emergency. And in that position, I would appreciate someone helping me, but I certainly wouldn't think it rude of anyone not to. |

I really hate my answer here but these days you, as a woman, have to be so careful for there are so many stories about women getting hurt or raped and killed in these situations. Sooooo, whereby I would want to be a Good Samaritan, I would have to use my common sense. I could lock my car doors, roll down the window a small bit and tell him I could call someone on my cell phone.Sadly, I really don't even feel comfortable with that. Perhaps a call to the police further up the road could alert them that the person may need help. That would be the safer bet. That is the most I would do these days. I hate the way things are now for it used to be we could pick up people we didn't know and help them. Please be careful and vigilant. As for my being late for an appointment, that would not enter into my decision. |

well i don't know i have often wondered what i would do because i am compassionate and care about others and would want to help, but on the other hand. I am a 26 year woman with 2 kids and i have seen and heard what can happen on the roadside to people. I would probably stop and help, if there was just a woman or a woman with children. if it was a man, i would probably not help, because i doubt that i could help him to begin with and 2 it would frighten me because our world has become crazy. a man i grew up with is married and has 2 kids, and he went to work the in jan. and when he came home his 2 kids were in bed, but his wife was gone. she is still missing and there has been no signs of her. i grew up without my mother, and would hate for my kids to have to go thru that. But i know that God wants us to help others so here i am again at my crossroads still undecided. |

I will stop for women. I can't really help with changing the tire, but I will offer my cell phone or a ride to the nearest gas station.
The reason I don't stop for men, is because I'm afraid to have strange men in my car. I also think that women are in more danger than men stranded on a road. |

Of course. I always stop, even when its probably not the safest situation. I can't live with the guilt of not helping. It would haunt me. Appointments can change. If situations were reversed, I would hope someone would stop and help me. |
