The one that I received telling me I'd been chosen to win a prize of up to £1million. With real stamps to send my entry back. I kept the stamps.
This happened twice in a year, about eight years ago. so I got two lots of stamps worth two first class stamps for FREE!
The surveys with the pens are good too, obviously the survey goes into the recycle box and the pen gets kept. |

I despise direct mail, but the comedian/activist Mark Thomas gave a handy tip... tear it up and stick it in the pre-paid reply envelope..... or better yet, use the pre-paid reply code to send them your unwanted domestic appliances... they have to pay the excess!!!
I complained to Readers Digest at the volume or rubbish they were sending me... ended up getting a compensatory cheque for £50... Result!! |

I received a genuine lottery ticket for the up coming Saturday draw, with nothing to indicate who it came from other than a non descript company logo.
The following Monday I received another lottery ticket for the upcoming Wednesday draw.
This time with a card, handwritten, stating if you are still there the Saturday winner was not you, have another go.
This time the card had a logo and a company name on it.
On the Thursday I received a letter and a catalogue from the company with the sales pitch that as I had opened this final letter I must have been unlucky on the lottery but (here comes the sales bit) I could be lucky and switch my consumnable supplies to them and save myself £££££££sssssssss
This all occurred about 5 years ago and I still talk about the marketing so it must have worked on me
Oh and I did submit an order to them as well!! |
