It's a con job, plain and simple. If you were to contact them, at some point, they would claim that they need some money, for transfer fees, bribes, whatever... always telling you, of course, that once they get those millions transferred, you'll get some unbelievably large percentage of their bounty as a reward for all your help.

There are many versions of this scam today, but at least one of the really early versions had some guy, typing in all capitals, claiming to be Nigerian. Anywhere, here's a detailed link to it from Snopes (Urban Legend debunking site):
http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/nigeria.asp

Like all con jobs, it only works once they can persuade you and your money to go in separate directions. This works often enough for this to be a real problem -- the Secret Service estimates these scams netted $100 million in just over a year (back in 1997).

These are all variations of a classic con known as "The Spanish Prisoner".. in that con, you'd be hit up for money to rescue some member of a wealthy family, who would obviously shower you with riches once out of prison.

A HUGE scam, mate. Delete the emails, don't even think of replying. Also delete emails that tell you you've won a lottery. Some of these can seem very real and convincing, but they're not.

Are they asking you to be a representative for their company so you can processed payments from their customers? If so, then they say keep 10% of the so-called customer checks and send them 90% back. Guess what this is a classic check fraud scheme. All of the checks are fakes and look very real but after a couple of weeks your bank will be coming after you.

Yeah, this is a big scam. You should mark those e-mails as spam.

You have to pay for transfer of the funds, and for other expenses. This is nothing but a scam. You pay one fee, and then something else crops up. As long as you keep paying these expenses to get your money, they will keep hitting you for it. Stop paying them money and they disappear.

kayakblack
They will send you a check to cash you send them the money less a fee and the check bounces and you go to jail. And have to make restitution.

There's suckers enough to keep these people in currency. If you have some money you don't need by all means they'll be able to take it off your hands. But, forget about any deals to make money it isn't gonna happen!!

It's a scam. Check out the Snopes site listed below. I think it's known as the Nigerian Scam.
