When I was knee high to a cricket, my mom would come in and turn down the lights and I'd say "Mom, tell me a story" and she'd say "It was a dark and stormy night, three men sat on the poopdeck, one said "Joe, tell us a story", "Well" said Joe, as he slowly rolled his cigarette...."It was a dark and stormy Night!"
And thats what she'd tell me. I loved it and remember it to this day. I'll tell it to my kids. I know it isn't really a story, but it evokes imagination. Plus I was always asking what a Poopdeck was.
