Depending on how fast your internet determines when you should hit that "Bid Now" button. Since I'm running a very fast internet, I can actually wait till the 10 second mark. Now someone on dial-up might have to hit "Bid Now" at a minute. Its sort of an experiment you'll have to look into because the speed at which you should do it is based on your internet speed.

Also, make sure your bidding a reasonable bid, otherwise you might get outbid and then you can't do anything about it.

As most other people have said, "the last minute" is the right answer. And in order do to that without sitting by your computer all day, you should try a "sniping" service. You tell them what your max bid is, and they bid it for you at the last few seconds, as if you were bidding on it yourself. If you win, you win. If not, you wouldnt' have won anyway. I use one that works great, and the fee is very small.

They have a feature called "bid groups" that you can use if the item you want comes up for auction frequently. You can bid on a number of items, and the first one that wins cancels all the rest.

Anyway, give it a try, first three snipes are free.

Watch the item. Then at the last few minutes, bid or wait until last 30 seconds and put in the highest amount you would bid up on the item. Thats how I win on there for items im interested in. If you keep bidding on the item since you seen it for a day or more, the bidding goes much higher that way. Good luck on what your bidding on!

The last ten seconds.

Not the last minute, unless you have really looked at the item and inspected it for closely! I bid on it throughout the whole process, that way I know who I am up against! I usually win!
