There are many businesses who started with so little yet grew to become good income vehicles down the road. But it will take more work, more research. With little resources, you can't afford to make mistakes.

For starters you could go to the SBA and get an application. This has help for small business trying to get started. You may need a CPA to help fill the booklet out. Or you could find a financial backer who wants to back you with his money and you do all the leg work to get the business started.

Perhaps one last, but important tip to start with. Consider your daily habits and the value you place on them. If they are prevent-ing you from saving money, consider re-arrranging some of your priorities. Re-valuate your friends & acquaintances, are they holding you back or encouraging & assisting you? What kind of friends are they?
Its your life, but you usually can't have it both ways. In order to start a new business you must be prepared to start a new life.
Your utmost priority should be: I want to change my life into a happy, sucessfull, and profitable scenaro. I am willing to make the necessary changes to accomplish this goal.

Write a buisness plan, and you can get help doing this by contacting your local small buissness administration, or your local college, they have people who own small buisnesses that will help you write the plan.

If your bank turns you down, you can then go to the small buisness administration, and apply for a loan, but you really do need to write a good buisness plan before you do anything else

Well, first you need to have a plan for what type of business you want to run. Next, you need to start wearing slutty clothing on a regular basis so that you will attract cheesy guys who will be interested in acting as an investor, and putting forth the money necessary for starting your business. You will also need to make friends with a lawyer (preferably male) who will keep you from signing any bad contracts/keep you from doing anything blatantly stupid. Otherwise, you can apply via your state's homepage for a grant, but it's much easier to just act like an idiot and get some rich, dumb guy to pay your way! ;)

There are different grants for women that you could look into to start a business. It may depend on the type of business that you are looking for.
