Accountants "operate" in many office locations. Schools, businesses, personal accountants, administration offices, government center buildings, stores, etc. Any place of business that gets income usually has a treasurer or accountant handling the monies of that company.

An accountant is someone who does book keeping. They would typically work in an area where financial matters are done.
The person who does your taxes at HR Block can be considered an accountant.
