Have you ever taken them to the Grand Canyon? It's a natural formation (not made by man...mostly), that your children will always remember. It's truly awe-inspiring no matter your age. |

My family and I rent a house on a lake. It isn't too expensive (depending on what type of community you pick). We can swim, fish, boat, play games together and go into town to museums, parks, zoos, shopping and etc. We love it. It is a great family vacation. You can make it as structured as you want it to be or as laid back as you want it to be.
We generally don't make a lot of plans for the two weeks because my kids like to stay at the lake house and swim and fish for most of the time. We have bonfires and roast marshmellows and make Smores. We play a lot of games (board games and outdoor games) and we ride bikes and take hikes. It is great family time. We look forward to it all year long.
It doesn't have to be real expensive either. Since the house has a fully stocked kitchen we can cook our own meals to save money or we can order out...whatever we feel like. It really is a great vacation (for us anyway).
Good luck! |

Myrtle beach! we go every year. with the age of your kids I would recommend staying at the Bar harbor Hotel its almost right across the street from family kingdom (amusement park) its ocean front and only about a 20 minute walk to the pavilion. if your more on a budget you could try gatlinburg and take the kids to Dollywood (my kids love it)
go to mymyrtlebeach.com and you can view every hotel they have online see all the attractions and view almost all the room lay outs. |

I guess to depends on how far you want to travel.
You can take a cruise, or try an all inclusive vacation so you won't have to worry about $ for food & entertainment.
Virginia Beach, Ocean City MD, Jamaica, Myrtle Beach, Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Pocono Mountains.
I'm from the East Coast, so these are places I have traveled to with children. |

I think it would be helpful if you mentioned what state you're from so we have a rough idea of what locations are near you. Either way, if you're in the west, maybe the Grand Canyon, or a road trip up the Pacific Coast would be nice. If you're in the east, maybe going to Coney Island or Atlantic City? If you're into it, there's also Dollyworld (or Dollywood...not sure which it is), and maybe New Orleans now that they're starting to get back on their feet? You could also go to Sea World in San Diego, then to the San Diego Zoo. |

Las Vegas. Seriously. I take my familly there all the time. Stay at Luxor, or Mandalay. There are so many kid friendly things to do there! Amusement parks, pools, attracions, everything. Don't miss Star trek: The Experience at the Hilton. Just stay away from Treasure Island. They changed ownership and went totally old-Vegas complete with smut. It is a shame, because the old pirate show was great for the family.
While there, check out the volcano, the fountains at Belaggio, the wave pool and the Shark Reef at Mandalay, the shows at Excalibur, the moving statues at Caesars (not to mention the finest shopping in the world). Then there is the new Wynn. There's too much to list!
There is no place like it! |

Used to live in Rapid City, South Dakota. Lots to do in SD that is free or cheap and great for kids....Mt. Rushmore, Buffalo to see, storybook island, flinstone park , the badlands...look it up and you'll see what all SD has to offer, or call the chamber of commerce there to send you a vacation guide. |

Well, it depends on how old they are. The aquarium and the zoo are usually fun for younger age children and a water park for older. But the younger children will have fun at a water park too. Then you can enjoy yourself to. They have other rides too, besides just water. So good luck planning. |

Washinton DC and all the Museums. It would be fun and very educational for your children. You wouldn't believe what you would see? My wife and I spent a week there and would love to return. Something different on each visit and the whole Family would enjoy! |

From when I was a child I loved it when my parents would take me to any of the National Parks. Usually we could make a week or so trip out of it stopping at numerous parks on our way. All of my sibblings and I have great memories of those trips. Seeing wild life, hiking up glaciers, Mount Rushmore and MORE, forgive the pun. But really the black hills are a phenomenal family vacation place. |
