Wow, that's a toughie! They were both hugely entertaining for different reasons. Lion King was poignant and had a moral, while Shrek was wildly funny. Aw shucks, rent/buy 'em both! You can't go wrong!

i think liked shrek better. most of the comedy is current and can really appeal to even the older age groups. but it would be unfair since the two are based on different themes and displayed in different dimensions (2d vs 3d) i had more fun with shrek
