well if they are in an airtight space so that there is no wind resistance or anything then both at the same time will hit first. But in the outside world then the feather is lighter so would be pushed against by the air and so would take longer to fall |

they both weigh and ounce, so they are the same (i see how you are ;-D). but if you let them free-fall, the feathers would float down while the gold would fall strate down. so the gold would hit the ground first. |

Yep, seems to be the consensus....the feathers would hit last because of wind resistance. The gold would hit first because it would fall straight down, but, again, the feather, due to wind resistance, would "float" down to the ground. |

I think this was tried at the Leaning Tower of Pisa, wasn't it? An ounce is an ounce no matter what the matter it is, and so they hit the ground at the same time, provided all other variables are equal (dropped at exact same moment, equal wind/air resistance on them as they fall, etc.) |

trick question. If we do not consider air friction, the same time. But the much larger surface area of the feathers will slow it down a lot if we take it into account... |

On Earth, or any planet with an atmosphere, gold will hit first, because the feathers will be slowed by wind resistance.
But on a place with no atmostphere, like the Moon, they'll fall with same acceleration, and hit at same time. |
