Shower vs. Bath, an Experiment

I have heard, more than once, that a person uses more water taking a shower than taking a bath. I was skeptical. So, I performed a simple experiment.
I took a shower, with the plug in place. I tried to make it a normal shower (humming and wondering if the phone was ringing), except for the fact that my feet would be more wrinkled than normal.
I found that I used much less water than I do when taking a bath. This is an experiment that I recommend. Don't believe those strange-but-true authoritative statements (like "No one knows why...") as fact. |

A bath uses on average 30 - 50 gallons of water (depending on the type and size of your tub). A shower uses 7 - 10 gallons per minute with the average shower lasting anywhere from 12 to 15 minutes. A 15 minute shower uses approximately 150 gallons of water.
It's also worth mentioning that many people take longer than 15 minute showers, and many also take more than one shower per day. |

a bath use the same big water quantity...
a shower in general aka normal way uses few water... but it can extend to a bath if you make shower more then 20-30min... depending also of the watter pressure... |
