I have been reading through these Q.& A. and can't for the life of me figure out why people ask about dumb stuff or common sense stuff. What is the point of proving ignorance?
A lot of these are great Q. but some are out there. I mean

I understand what you are saying but we have to realize what appears dumb to one person may not to another. People are at different ages, different places, different educational levels in their lives so we must respect all questions and if we think they are "dumb", we just don't have to answer them. I do not like to see sarcastic or rude comments made even to the "dumbest" question. It can only be hurtful and serves no useful purpose. I just skip the ones that I don't like. |

Many people have no common sense. I too am upset by children inviting people to take advantage of them sexually, or children asking people to do their homework for them. It would be nice if the stupid questions would be weeded out but that must take too much time. |

The first time I looked at this site, I felt the same way.
The second time I looked, I still felt that way. I think the overall concept of this site is a good idea, but maybe someone should be screening the questions. |

It's just not all people are in the same level of intelligence as you are, and people of all varieties come to YA. It's not just people who are the same as you browsing this site, I'm sure there are people from places you can't think of also surfing this site, like people from a remote island or something.
And there are peoples too that ask stupid question here, because they know that YA features complete anonymousity, even to their friends who know their email address (that's why you have the option to hide your Yahoo ID). So it's maybe your best friend that asks the question, but you have no way to know that it's him that asking.
People ask 'stupid' question also because they're too shy to ask that question in real life, here in YA, the anonymousity makes people feel free to ask because there is no way to prove that the question is asked by you, even if you have told your friend, who you are in the YA, you could just change your nickname, and retrieve your anonymousity. |

I agree with you it angers me in no way, I would much answer a serious question then to answer some of the most dumb not to mention nasty questions taht are put on here.Some of the questions on here are real people asking for help ,but those are the people who seemed to be ignored or either they get a dumb answer.Yes Ilike the site to and most of the people are great but some of them kids or not are just uncalled for. I admire your courage to ask this question and i respect you as a person for seeing what is wrong on here .This is way to much of a nice place with nice people to be ruined by some..... |

Ignorance and wisdom are always relative. Whats stupid for you many be a intelligent for someone else. Not everyone can know everything. For a stupid qeustion we can give an intelligent answer. I hate people who dont really ask a question here, they have things like "Do you like me". Thats stupid, but any question with some sense is good enough question according to me. |
