Why are Smurfs blue?

I figured they were all premature babies, it then stunted their growth. They decided to form a little colony of premature little people and that gargamel (sp?) person was jealous of their sucess and tried to drown them in blue kool-aid. It's true I tell you.

I agree with Michael. Ever thought about how there is only one girl and all those little baby smurfs? That was one busy woman.

bcuz they originated from atlantis better question why is there only one female smurf and one smurf named papa smurf? does that mean she and he... made all the smurfs by themselves and how old does that make them and if lady smur is as old as papa smurf why doesnt she show any signs of aging?

Because they are old as hell ,have never had sex ,as there is only Smurfette,who wears short a skirt,
& heels ....being the oldest, Papa Smurf is her "Sugar Daddy"...but lost his Viagra...so they all have such a bad case of blue*****,that it affected them from head to toe.
