I have worked in construction management for 10 years, I represent the Owner, and have control over the general contractor who does work for the Owner. Often is the case where the WHITE general contractor will shout to get his way, usually for more money, or to not be tide down to justify his cost for asking for more money to do what is already in the contract documents, so they bully you , resort to threats, act overly emotional, and it seems like these are the only tactics they know to try to get there way. As for me, an asian guy, I don't ever raise my voice nor is emotional in such encounters, I just say, if you can't justify the cost in a piece of paper, then you don't get the money. I am leaving this industry because dealing with WHITE PEOPLE in this industry is like working with cavemen. WHITE PEOPLE DISGUST ME, THEY HAVE NO CLASS. |

Dear Sir I have allot of sympathy with your situation. On a daily basis I work with allot of different cultures, there are times where I really get so frustrated I want to explode. But I have to disagree with you. People are people you will get youre manipulative white people, manipulative black people, if you really have to think about it I'm sure you must have met some manipulative Asian people as well. So the statement that you are making I take it is out of frustration otherwise you will be making yourself guilty of discrimination. Also remember any person work in a sequence, I am not saying what is happening to you is youre fault, but remember every action causer a reaction. Say your white caveman was promised thing and never received it, or in some way he feels unappreciated or even overworked and over stressed. I think I have stated my view enough. Have nice day and hope you feel better soon. I really don't want to sound rude but maybe its good to mention that not al caveman are that bad. I am a very proud cavewoman, ha,ha,ha. Don't worry I really do understand youre situation. |

Good decision to leave the industry. It seems like everyone working in construction is either a power-tripping screaming foreman, or a shady character slash criminal, or else working "under the table" for one illegal reason or another, usually doesn't want to pay child support or has no documents. Perhaps it's just the white people you seem to associate with. I don't know many people of any ethnicity that fit the description you are talking about. It's nice to assume that they are scared of you, but I assure you thats not the case. I have a feeling that people in construction are going to be rowdier than those in other fields. Good for you for not using such petty tactics yourself. Shame on you for being such an overgeneralizing racist......but then again I'm a disgusting white person with no class, right?

Hey, that's not fair to say all white people disgust you because you work with some Neanderthal men. I am a white women who has 4 kids and a husband who works very hard for what we have. I believe in helping others that won't, can't or don't care for themselves and not getting ANYTHING, EVER for free. That makes me feel good about myself and THAT gives me values. The way that I see it is they are afraid of you and the values that you have. Most of the time people put down others because they don't possess what you have. Just know that you are a good person and you don't have to do business with them if you can find someone else who will respect you and what you are doing.
Maybe if that doesn't work out, you could take on some of what they are doing and see if that doesn't get you where you would like to be. It works for them! |
