I'm 46 - living in uk - divorced, kids grown up - i have a degree in international politics - have run my own business in the past, done finance & admin etc etc.
Neither those that are left-handed, right-handed or ambidextrous are any smarter than other due to which hand they dominantly use. Those that are left-handed (such as myself) use the right side of the brain more, and vice versa for those right-handed. There are certain attributes that those that use either hand might have. That being said, whether right handed or left, if you want to be smart...study hard. ;)

They are said to have a more active left side to their brains - making them better communicators and more artistic and creative. But the right handers are supposed to be more logical. Neither is more intelligent. I'm right handed and English - is this an intelligent answer?

There not necessarily more intelligent. The difference between left and right handed people is that in RIGHTHANDED people the LEFT hand side of the brain controls the RIGHT hand side of the body. The RIGHT hand side of the brain controls the LEFT of the body, this means the LEFT side of the brain is dominant in right-handed people. This is the analytical/logical side of the brain.
In LEFTHANDED people the LEFT hand side of the brain controls the LEFT hand side of the body and the RIGHT side of the brain the Right side. This means the RIGHT side eof the brain is dominant. This is the artistic/abstract/creative side of the brain.
This tends to result in creative individuals that think of the world in different ways to the majority right-handed people, not necessarily smarter people.
