I have asked myself the same question.
I suspect that many of the people here are:
1. very young
2. have multiple accounts and are playing games for points accumulation.
3. Are looking for someone else to give them their homework answers (which would fit in to your lazy theory)
Perhaps I'm wrong, but so many of the answers I've seen are shockingly sophomoric. So much so that they could only have come from children. Now, this could be a helpful tool for kids to seek input from others, but there really should be a mechanism in place to prevent some of the absurdity that is present.
For example: (Hey Yahoo, are ya' listening?) If someone submits a post that is just ridiculous, the other members should be able to penalize the person who posted.
And, since so many of the answers to ridiculous items specifically make reference to thanking the poster for the two points, it would seem that the points matter. So, I suggest that stupid posting just for the points be an offense that is punishable by a significant reduction in points, say 50 points!!!

I don't know but I have asked two very good questions, one about Ibogaine and one about computer creation dates, neither did I get much response. Well, janet responded but I pay her to respond so I can get more points than eyelove jesus ... Got to stick to things like what is the recipe for...my boyfriend did this...how can I fix my sink....what color should I paint my....why does God do....am I a true friend if....or my fave is what medicne can I take? Oops can I get pregnant if I .....I love the funny ones like all correct spellings of How can I get to Pluto via Kansas, but for the most part people answer when they don't really know, and the smart folk have to weed through to get to the good ?'s. It is still fun and I have a lot of laughs.
How about you, has it filled some gap in your busy life? I have burned a few dozen cookies reading answers. My house smells good though! |

Some don't know how to choose keywords to google, some want an opinion, and I think at least half of the questions you are speaking about, just want to test out the system and see someone really answer their question. |

People like me are looking for personal opinions and having people recall their own personal experiences, so we don't make the same mistakes. It's kind of like living thru them....If you just need a song title or a map, I can understand Googling first.... |
