Terror Storm-see on Google Video | Why are you so bloody stupid? |
When I'm in a shop etc I can see the numbers everyone types in for their PIN. I'm talking hundreds of people. Nearly everyone points a single finger at the pad for all to see. Some use two fingers, but I can still see. Maybe they don't think anyone can see, but I'm telling you now: I can. I've yet to see a person who puts their hand over the pad so even they can't see what they're doing. This is what I do: I feel for the keys. On Watchdog recently people who'd had money taken from their accounts were told they couldn't get the money back 'cause they must've disclosed their PIN. They refuted this, but I bet they tapped their PIN in with one sticky-out finger. Come on admit you're guilty of this. I'm going to start telling these idiots that I know their PIN, for their own good. Additional Details Oh, it doesn't matter if everyone knows your PIN. Silly me! Doh! Actually alot of thieves pinch your purse/card without you noticing straight away. By the time you notice they may have rinsed your account. Then, like the ladies on Watchdog the bank won't reimburse you 'cause your PIN was used. It would only be your own fault for not protecting it. |

Wouldn't you need my card aswell as my number to get my money? You can look at my pin all you want but just try taking that card off me!! Even if someone did get my card I would just phone the bank asap and cancel it!! |

I buy my most important sh*t online, I don't trust anyone in public enough to disclose even my first name to them unless I absolutely have to for some reason.
Stupid people need to have the part of their brain removed that makes them stupid, then there wouldn't be any problem. We could put them on some farm in Idaho and have them farm potatoes for McDonald's shitty French fries while Richard Simmons runs around in a spandex jump-suit whipping them all on the @ss screaming "WORK IT LADIES!!!". - Or we could just have a bunch of people killed, either way works. :D |

A thief can't steal your money if they have your pin, they need your card as well. You can let anyone know your pin number, just don't give them your card.
If someone mugs you for your number and card, phone and cancel your cards. The cash machine the thief used would likely have CCTV.
You can let anyone know your account number and sort code as all they can do is deposit money with those details.
The only details you shouldn't let anyone know is your 16 digit card number, expirey date and the 3 digit CVV number. |

I know people are just too trusting sometimes! Please don't do what someone suggested about saying their pin aloud to them tho as you'll feel real bad when someone walks out and is mugged 4 their card because the person was in queue behind them and wants the card to go with the number!
The pins are meant to make our accounts safer but unless we are all more careful it'll do the opposite!!
Good question mate! Steph x |

I personally cover when I am entering my pin but to YOU, a person who does not recognize personal space, nor respect peoples privacy enough to not look when you are aware that a person is entering their personal PIN #. Try something like turning your back to the person and be obvious so that they know that you are putting forth the effort to not see their personal PIN #. Why are YOU so bloody stupid and nosy stop looking and memorizing people's PIN numbers you crook, thief, and rouge. Now admit that you are guilty of stealing people's money by watching to closely with the intention to do financial harm. You thief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... |

A PIN is only half the equation needed to steal money. You also need the account numbers on the credit strip. That's why people don't care.
Now I suppose if you were to rob someone right after seeing them enter their numbers, you could take their card and use it. Not a very likely scenario.
There are scams where people put an extra reader on the machine and watch PINs being entered, but I do always look to see if there is any kind of unusual looking stripe reader on the machine. |

I have noticed this as well, and am just as annoyed that people are so stupid.
Thankfully, I am not amongst them; I put my hand over the pad before I start typing. No-one sees my Pin.
I have not used Cash in Months; Its the handiest way to go. These Cash only people are so behind. |

And that's exactly why I will not use the pin pad. I make them run it as a credit transaction.
Next time you see it, lean over and repeat their PIN to them. They'll freak the heck out, I'm sure, and tell everyone they know what happened. Every time you do that, you'll probably cause 10-20 people to change their PIN's. One idiot at a time... |

No one's ever noted my pin down while I hand over the cash... Plastic is a rip off, dont use it !
If I get mugged... I'll loose a maximum of £50, not a penny more, maybe if my bag's taken I'll loose a £12 eBay nokia with £2.50 of credit and some cosmetics, but there's no plastic, no pin numbers written anywhere disgused as phone numbers, no debit card... I cant be taken to a cash machine and forced to withdraw money.
I dont get any surcharges for using chip and pin, I dont get any unauthorised overdraft fee's.
When I paid for my car, using cash got me £100 off the price without even bothering to haggle.
PIN numbers.. you can keep 'em ! |
