Why can't i get a job?

im 18 and have a highschool deploma but i have never worked before. I have so far filled out 25 job applications in the past 2 months and have not herd one call back. I will work at any job except fast food, and walmart. And i can work for as many hours as they need. I'am really trying to get a job because my dad says he will kick me out at the end of this year if im not going to college or working. Theres no way im going to college, im too cool for that. But i want to work, and am not afraid to do hard labor. I tried to join the military but they wouldn't except me because of my health problems. Please help, i really need advice!

PLEASE take this from me, i started working when i was 16,im 23 now and once you start working its hard to do school at the same time, so take your dads offer and take some classes, im assuming he will help you finacially if you just go to college, i can PROMISE you that you wont regret that decision 10 years from now.

How about you try for an apprenticeship under someone like a plumber or something

Why don't you want to work Fast Food? Those are the easiest job to get and they are pretty fun.
Wendy's was my first employer and I loved working there! I met great people and I made more money than my friends who worked in Retail.
Times are rough right now and you are being too picky! Take whatever job you can get.

DONT GO TO COLLEGE.

dont go unless you have a PLAN. unless you absolutly know what you want to do. people are MORONS when they say just go to college. ITS NOT THAT SIMPLE. if you dont know what you're doing, then it will just be a waste of money !!!

i went to school for graphic design. i was just a dumb kid at the time so i picked something that i thought might be fun and easy. i didnt like it. but i stuck to it anyway hoping that i would and that i can atleast use the education (the diploma) to make money.

well guess what? a few thousands of my hard working mother's dollars later and i havent done a damn thing. i dont have a job. my 2 year degree in graphic design is worthless. i dont have enough education or experience to get a job doing it. nor would i want to. i wont continue for a 4 year degree because i dont even like it.

so dont just go to school unless you are really serious about what you want to do.

OR.......

if you think you MIGHT be interested in something. do this. research it a little. find how much the occupation makes. ask people about their job. i mean right here on the internet. ask post on a message board. then if you are still interested, just take the main classes. dont waste your time and money paying for math and litterature B.S. !!! just get your feet wet and get a feel for it.

millitary? i dont know why people would want to do that. i support the troops and everything but i would not want to get myself killed. its not worth it. why would you want that?

as for getting a job, i am in the same boat. i keep applying and no one will hire me. i guess they want someone with tattoos and a ring in their tounge. i dont know WTF more they want. so i cant help you with your job. but tell your ****** dad how HARD it is to find a job. if he still doesnt get it then say "YOU KNOW WHAT? WHY DONT YOU TRY TO FIND ME A JOB. GO AHEAD. PRETEND YOU'RE ME. ITS EASY RIGHT. GO AHEAD. SHOW ME A JOB". then if he says about the school then show him what i just posted. heck give me your phone # and I'LL TALK TO HIM MYSELF.

My advice would be to review your applications and resume carefully before submitting to make sure that you don't have the same kinds of spelling/grammar mistakes as you have in your question. Bad spelling instantly turns potential employers off (I know, as a former retail manager and someone who currently reviews all incoming resumes in a doctor's office).

its your future you are messing with, i would advice you to goto college and once you get the degree you will be far better than workin labour jobs. pleae review your dad offer you are too young to work at this age

I've never heard of someone being too cool for college. Hmm. If you have to answer any questions on you apps, (which I'm sure you do), perhaps your "too cool for college" and "I'll work anywhere but fast food and walmart" attitude comes shining through!!

Too cool to go to college? That's about the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Most employers won't hire someone who can't spell or write. Your health problems may be affecting your employment prospects also.

Without any job experience it'll be difficult to get jobs outside of fast food or wal-mart.
