"Wat doo yu meen?" Just kidding. Like the other answerers said, they're in a rush to finish their answer or question. If they finish fast, they'll be one of the first answerers. Laziness is what's stopping some from using the handy spell check tool. It takes up time as well. |

I think it's HILARIOUS. The day they introduced the spell check feature, people still had unreadable spelling errors to the point of Pig Latin garbage. YA! Staff must have been amused that their latest feature was useless. I haven't laughed that hard since the Date Movie trailer. Now that we have that feature, there is NO excuse for spelling errors. People are either lazy, VERY young, or just plain stupid. |

Yes, spell check is a good thing but so is good grammar ethics period. You're complaining about people not using spell check and spelling poorly but did you look at how you start all of your sentences? There is not one uppercase letter in your question at all. I'm sorry, when you are talking about yourself as in the "I" aren't you suppose to capitalize that? Hmmm, and what bout paragraphs, ever hear of those?
Your last sentence stated: "they type and spell like retards." Think about what you typed and how you typed yourself. Could you be talking about yourself?
Words to ponder. |

I have wondered the same thing myself; and when I put my ideas or opinions out, I want them to be as clear and accurate as I cam make them. . . on the other hand, tolerance (and variety) are the spice of life. |

I think there are a lot of people from other countries on this site and they are doing the best they can with the English language. I could make fun of your education because you didn't capitalize your "i" but you already made a fool of yourself and didn't need me to do it for you. |

What's it like to be an incomplete moron? What's it like to be a bat? The spell checker is not for checking spelling, it's just for being there so you can see it; and even if it was, what about the words that are spelled properly but for the context are not, like for example if I write <there> instead of <their> --What's the stupid spell checker going to do then? Ha! |

Well I'll sleep safer at night knowing your out there working hard to educate people about doing spell checks. I'm glad there's nothing more serious to worry about, like curing cancer or ending world hunger, and you can really dedicate yourself to this cause. |

because many people are lazy and assume that the reader will use their common sense to figure out what the word is. |

Fifth graders spell better than many here (although, maybe they are fifth graders??). Anyway, it has to be laziness as the button is only inches from where we are all typing. |

Why can't people on here comprehend punctuation? Why can't they resist making agonizingly long run-on sentences? Anyway, most Americans probably can't read past a 5th grade level- that's why news papers are written at that level.
EDIT: I can't believe you blame our lack of social programs. That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day. I'm laughing so hard.. tears... |

Simple, people are just too lazy. The idea of the Internet, and it being a "boundless" space for anyone to use has slowly made people abuse the Internet. Either that, or this is a rhetorical question. |
