Because for some reason its manly to track down defenseless animals with high-capacity weapons. I dont really see whats so toughguy about it when you basically sit on your *** waiting for something to happen by (either animal or lawyer). Except for hauling the beer and pulling the carcass from the woods, there isnt type of manual labor involved. If you eat what you kill thats fine, its the "treating animals as target practice" I find wrong. |

I think it may have to do with the whole "holier than thou" concept. Hunters may not believe hunting is wrong, but they know in popular society, a lot of people look down on it, so when someone critisizes them, it makes them feel inferior. A lot of them aren't trying to go against popular culture purposely so its a very uncomfortable feeling. |

Not all hunters react that way but most of us don't do well with criticism. |

as a hunter i never blow up in someones face about the issue. that would be like getting mad at a child. not to ay that all anti or non hunters are children or even act like them. Most of us bow up at confrontation because thats the way we were raised. i usually will sit down with a non hunter ( anti or not) and explain my side of the issue and let them explain thiers. because its not all just opinions on either side its facts. yes its true that some poeple get up in arms about the killing of animals one way or another. I only get this way if i m personally interuppted when hunting or running a hunt test, as te peta group hate us. I tend to just laugh it off and let the person go on thier way. im not going to force a vegan to eat a steak and i wont force an non hunter to pick up a gun. everyone has thier own thoughts. |

It's the utter guilt they feel deep down inside for killing Bambi's mom. |

I've noticed that too...I'm against hunting, but my friend Joe is a hunter...he'll argue to his death the "benefits" of hunting. I don't get why he makes a big deal out of it. I mean it's just my opinion and his opinion. Maybe because in their minds they try to justify killing animals, and want everyone else to help him justify it as well. I don't know lol, that makes sense if the hunter's an insecure headcase lol. |

They generally don't get offensive with nonhunters. They get offensive with anti-hunters. Yes, there is a major difference. Nonhunters don't walk around the woods banging pots together to scare animals away while you're trying to teach your 13 year old how to hunt. Nonhunters don't throw rocks at hunters in treestands. |

that is a easy question to answer and i will try to be polite
the tree huggers and people of that sort are trying to take away our basic rights as americans the want all of our guns so that way the streets will be safe but as they found out in england when the hunters and shooting sportsman didn't get pissed off when the tried to restrict the gun laws they had everything taken away from them the tree huggers are using the poor defenceless bamby to promote there cause
this is a srcew up world it is moraly, ethicly and legal to kill babies but not bamby can sombody explain this to me
that is why we get a litle upset when we hear people talk bad about hunting |

been attacked for years you either like it or hate it.
who is worse the hunter or the farmer that cages animals like chickens. the pest rabbit has its numbers thined down in australia by hunters.
hunters get agro on the subject because they have lost a lot of rights over last 20 years all around the world.
using ferrets has been banned in some states of australia
and 99percent of the time the ferrets dont get near the rabbit .
coz he smells him or hears him coming and runs straight out and into a net . |

If you don't like hunting that's fine with me, and most other hunters. I will never force you to hunt. The problem begins when highly uninformed and highly opinionated people, such as yourself, begin making false claims against hunting. I have read your other posts and seen what you think about hunting. Based on your answers I can easily see how a hunter could get offended by your ignorance in regard to the subject of hunting. There is a large problem in this country today with people pushing their ideas on everyone else. I don't like the idea of two men or two women having sex, but I don't go around proclaiming false evidence of why it is wrong. Sure, I have my beliefs about those actions, but I keep them to myself. Therefore, I respectfully ask that you stop your crusade against hunting, at least until you actually learn a thing or two about it, and do the things that make you happy. |

I think hunters like any group has a different way of looking at all things. They may view it as being unbelievable that someone wouldn't want to kill another animal for the rush. Vice Versa, a non-hunter might get offended at the hunter for doing what he/she does... |

Is the real question, why do non-hunters always get offensive if someone is a "hunter".
I dont know if your refering to the so called "wall" that is automatically thrown up when someone asks, you may want to look at it as a defense mechanism.
Often hunters are criticized for being themselves. |

It would seem they think the only right thing to do is what they do, they don't like people who don't follow and don't seem to respect anyone else. |
