I don't know your ages but it could possibly be due to immaturity. I don't mean that in a negative way but usually the older you get the more you realize the small stuff doesn't matter and the easier it is to let it go which in turn contributes to less arguing. My husband and I got together when we were 15yrs old. I was pregnant at 17, had a baby at 18, got married at 19 and have now been married for 15 yrs. We fought like cats and dogs for the majority of our relationship. It wasn't until about 2 years ago that we realized how pointless most of our arguments were. Even when our irritation is legitimate, we've learned how to either talk it out like normal people or wait until we've calmed down enough to speak civilly. We had fought, we broke up many times before we were married, we seperated quite a few times after we were married and then realized how pointless it all was. A relationship means you love the person and want what's best for them. They are your PARTNER not your OPPONENT. Treat each other like you're on the others side. Don't fight against your "teammate". |
