people may hate someting and be hypothetically against it and then just go around and use it because it's useful and convenient... i don't know, maybe because people are hypocrites. |

I don't really know anyone who doesn't like walmart but they have really good prices compared to other grocery stores. |

Because Wal-Mart is slowly becoming the only place to shop.
They move in to a town or region and undercut the prices of all the local stores. People hate them because they are forcing all the local shops to close, but in this economy they can't afford to not save money. That's why they still shop there.
By the way, the best day to shop at Wal-Mart is the opening day of NASCAR season. Go and enjoy the silence... |

It's not the same people that say they "hate Wal*Mart" that, ultimately, shop there. Usually, it's the older homeowner who objects to increased traffic, debris on the roadway, people coming and going, as well as the fear of people from "other"places coming in.
Often it's younger people who shop there, young mothers, people that are intent on saving money, older people who are on fixed incomes, etc. |

I'm one of those- I don't like Wal-Mart but i shop there anyways. I don't like it because the ones i've been to are always dirty and they put small "mom and pop" businesses out of business because Wal-Mart buys in such bulk, their prices are sooo low and little businesses can't compete. That is why I shop there anyways, I'm a student and it saves me about 15-20%. |

As per social psychology, people have multiples selves. Their ideal, more-humanistic self hates WalMart for its policies but their more practical self wants to save money.
Most of the time, your practical and impulsive self dominates and you end up at Wal Mart. |
