I wish I knew, it pisses me off. I was in the Army and I am proud of that. The Army teaches you discipline, and I wish that everyone had to go through bootcamp at least, to learn some things about themselves they would never know otherwise. It sifts the cowards and the weak through the brave and the strong, I think the weak and cowardly should just shut their damn mouths up. |

But i think that the two that disent are completely missing the point.
I have been with the army for the last 9 years of my life. I have seen less racism directed at our buddies of a slightly diffrent stripe.
There are no white or black soldiers my friend they are all green. When you do what they do for a living color means nothing. And if you think that you are being treated poorly today ask your grandfather or grandmother. They will fill you in on a little secret.
Or if you would like to see it for yourself. Move to europe. Or visit africa. That will open your eyes bucko.
As far as the army being the lowest paid. Wow you did your research on that one. The army promotes faster than any other branch. They give more bonuses and incentives than any other branch. The U.S. Army is the highest paid army on earth and in history.
Dumb..wow more super research. Soldiers today are smarter than their civilian counterparts. More soldiers hold advanced degrees that civilians of the same age. Why is that you ask. Well the army will pay you to goto school. They will pay for everything. Give you a computer and more classes than you could ever have time for. Solders are all about training. Physically and mentally.
Yea sometimes the army seems like it can be pretty dumb. But do you have 200 plus years of experiance on how to shape young men and women into the worlds most deadly fighting force? No. well the army does.
Everything is planed out for safety and for training.
You don't have to be a jackass to think the army is stupid. You just need to be ignorant. The world can fix ignorant but dumb my friend, dumb is forever. |

Because the Army provides structure, discipline and a way of life that most people can't understand and are afraid of...because they weren't raised right! Today's society is so hedonistic and egocentric, that the concept of fighting for your country and protecting freedom is totally foreign to them...thus, they call it stupid. It's actually one of the most logical paths one can take in life. If every male served 2 years for his country, we'd have a much greater nation. There'd be less unemployment, poverty,etc. because the discipline the Army offers carries through in all aspects of one's life. |

Well for me the Army is kinda stupid for the simple purpose that really the only recruit stupid people because the lowest of the scorers score on the ASVAP determine wheather their sent to the army navy marines national gard then the air force or something of that order but i know that the army are the lowest paid of all those and scorers. And besides why would a person of color go to the army and defend a country that could care less about their people (racism) nobody deserves to fight for a country in a war pertaining to money, lives shouldnt be lost over the greed of a dictator (bush). |

I think the Army would be a stupid choice for me. I'm a Catholic, and I know that war can make you commit acts that are unholy. Soldiers can undergo a lot of stress that can make them crack. The Japanese soldiers in Nanjing forced fathers to rape daughters, sons to rape mothers... They committed acts of rape themselves. These things have gone on for ages now. Most people that think that the Army is stupid aren't likely to come out and say it. Not because they are cowards, but because the way you worded it might have made them understand that they have been overly judgmental. Are you being overly judgmental?
Edit: The army promises a lot of incentives that my friends in the army have never, and will never recieve. Many of them are mad at themselves for being fooled. One of my friends was told the army would buy him a car. Recruiters lie. My friend's dad went straight from the Navy SEALS to driving a bus the rest of his life. Yeah! Go Army! |

there is not one of the military branches that are stupid, and the army is definatly the ones that take the brunt of war along with the marines,navy,airforce, so just ignore these people and forgive them because they do not understand what the armed forces have done to keep our country free, many men died trying to protect the world and our country from being over run by tirants, i say be proud to be an american and an ally |

First of all, the people who think a collective body of people is a stupid thing are apparently mildly to severely ignorant. The people feel that since our country is led by a man lacking intelegence we must persecute anything that has to do with it. although i may not agree with the war that america is involved in, i do feel that it is neccesarry to support our troops and not act as if they have done somthing wrong. |

are you sure its not the draft that they think is stupid bc that what i think is stupid not the army. I don't think that people should be forced to do something they don't want to do. It doesn't matter if it is fighting for our country, in my eyes its still wrong. this country is suppose to be a country of freedom and of choice, i don't see either in the draft. Yes i know the draft isn't being done right now but it may come back one day. |

The only problem is, that if you don`t like something, the only moral solution is, to not benefit from that.
For example: " I don`t like my parents ", then go and work yourself, pay your school etc.
The people who speak bad about the army forget, (but maybe they never thought about it), that the army protect their bottoms (asses), from bullets, bombs etc. |

Because they have no sense of pride for their country or sense of discipline. If you are in the army I want to say thank you. If we didn't have people like you what would our world be like? Also the people who think the Army is stupid are just jealous because they would never be able to make it and are not tough enough to help the world. I think anyone who is in any branch of the armed services is a hero just for joining. |

I'm in the Air Force, and have two close friends in the Army. I'll tell them thier "stupid" for being in the Army, and they'll tell me I'm lazy and sit at a desk all day, and neither of those statements are true. It's just interservice rivalries. |
