How about because it is their right to believe in what ever they want,or not to believe in whatever they want,why do you believe in a fictional character?

god causes so many arguments. so does religion in general come to that. i dont believe in any god, because there is no reason why i should. if there is a god, then he/she has really done nothing for me. there is nothing but biased proof that there is a god. proof written by people who believe in him/her/it, proof in sacred texts (eg: the bible) but who wrote that? why should we believe it? people havnt explored every possibility about how the Earth was created by god, so why should we believe he/she/it did? everyone has their different theories about god, even within a religion. different christians will have different ideas about who/what God is, what form he/she/it takes.
and whats more, i believe EVERYONE should be EQUAL, so saying there is a god superior to everyone goes completely against my beliefs. and my beliefs arent a religion, they are just a law to my life, rules i set myself to live by, not faith, not a religion.
and can i say, im DEFINATLY NOT weak minded, or confused (well, not about this) in the least. actually, i think its the semi/religious people who run to a "god" whenever they need help that are confused, especially when they dont believe in a god every other day of their life, apart from when they are scared, or need help. some people only go to church or pray when there is a problem in their life, are they confused? or not. |

Because people tend not believe in something when it's hard to see physical eveidence if them. I don't think that the Christian image of what god is helps. People are raised to believe in some all-powerful protector, and grow up feeling that their protector has abandoned them as life continues to throw them shitty-sticks. Perhaps if they told us what God really is there would be more believers, then again you believe harder when you have to figure it out for yourself.
By the way for those who currently have no beliefs about god, observe the divintiy of life around you and remember that god made us 'in his own image'. It doesn't mean just mankind, it means all of it. God is everywhere because everywhere is God. Talking to God is the ability to tap into the universal life-force and feel creation as a whole.
At least, that's what I see. |
