Some people will do this bcause they may think that the person asking needs 2 think & figure out the answer 4 themselves,so they'll ask a thought provoking question in return. |

I think sometimes the question that is asked needs to be explained further so one can answer it. For example..."I think I may be pregnant..." Well, how can one answer that with no further details....so one may answer...why do you think that, have you missed your period??? Have you been tested??? So forth and so on... |

In some cases not enough information is given by the person asking in order to give either a proper answer. Also, some of the questions are so general that a library worth of writing would be needed to provide the answer. |

I don't think it is always done on to annoy. Sometimes the original question is rhetorical, and others it is proper to answer it with a question to get a point across. |
