I think it goes both ways. Why do black women get their hair straightened and wear extensions? Its not a fact of trying to copy. It just something that they like. And as for Miss Thang that said "with out us (white people) black people ain't ******," you need to slow your role, because without us, you wouldn't have style and class and don't forget, your ancestors were the ones that bought US over here because YA LL didn't want to do stuff yourself, so now who REALLY wouldn't be anything without who? |

You should be happy that white people are "copying" black people as long as they aren't racial about it. That says something for your culture .
When I was a preschool teacher, the kids copied me because they liked who I was. they wanted to be like me . SO maybe you can look at it as being that way.
People are who they are and people do what they do, we are all unique and we all have reasons for doing things.
Ignore what you don't like, praise what you do like. |

Sweetie I have teens and many younger friends. I work for a VERY large corporation. It's not a matter of "Copy", I think it's a matter of pure pressure and just trying to "FIT IT". To say copy/our culture? That's unfair and to me a lil prejudice itself. |

I'm a white Canadian and i agree. middle and upper class kids for example trying to emulate the hardcore rap lingo and clothing.but we all take from each other i see a lot of black women who desperately want the straight hair that white race generally has for one example. the thing that you should really be upset about is how the white man took advantage of jazz,blues and rock and roll. for the better part it was yours but wasn't allowed to capitalize on it first it wasn't acceptable until like Elvis got on stage.he new where he got it from,**** everybody did. |

well I think the reason whites copy blacks is because it is a differant way of acting. The black culture in this country has been able to do and act the way they want to. And the whites want that freedom to copy them. And besides its cool!!! I dont think it is so much that the whites copy as much as the want to id with the blacks who are their friends and fit in. |
