Perhaps it is a cultural thing. I have read that, years ago, they were pushing a product under the name "White Elephant", which has a very different meaning in the US than it does in China.
And there was supposedly a line of men's shirts sold under the brand name "Pansy".
Yes, the brand names are probably a matter of the two cultures not understanding each other.
The word "martini" is understood by Chinese to mean "The horse kicked you". |

Build quality, their standard of quality there are extremely low to keep costs down. China tried to enter the car market in Europe and failed horribly due to this. |
