Somehow adults forget what being a teenager was like. For the vast majority of teens that go goth, it's just a phase. We all have/had them. Parents have to remember that we all go through a huge about of changes to find out who we are in our teen years, and if parents brought their kids up right, the values that parents have instilled in kids will remain in thier hearts. |

Well I think part of that is the image that a few people have caused. Usually a small group influences how a group of people is seen, and mostly with the goth thing it's the image of ransacking houses and taking blood sacrifices. The important thing is to never give anyone a reason to complain about YOU, and prove YOURSELF to be worthy of respect. |

Well it is a bad thing even for adults. If you dress in black...well as long as you don't worship Satan or anything satanic then adults have no right to judge. |

It's just different. Your parents scared the crap out of their parents with long hair, bell-bottom pants and weed. They are scared because goth kids look like they are death-warmed-over. Plus, you have to admit, goth almost always means "depressed, dark, dreary, etc". Maybe they are afraid you'll kill yourself or something. |
