No overheads.. |

In my experience it is cheaper because it is second hand stuff. Or being sold by someone who doesn't want the item anymore and might as well make some money on it rather than chuck it out! |

Ebay is not always cheaper, befre Xmas the new PSP's were selling higher on Ebay than in the shops new.
You are lucky if you manage to buy 'genuine, Brand NEW items' off Ebay that are cheaper than normal ..
its a marketplace full of rogue traders who simply wanna get rich and dont care about the customer.
Alot of the stuff is second hand as well, which explains the cheapness. The new stuff is bought bulk and is cheaper to sell in Ebay than pay for the overheads of a shop. |

maybe they buy in bulk so they buy the items for less than retail price. Dont forget that shops etc have to add their markup, seeling on ebay has less overheads, therefore the prices are lower.
or, as you say, the games are stolen..... |

Some items are cheaper because as another person answered it maybe used and the person selling is just trying to get part of their money back. But I also see many things that people sell as new and are getting a premium price for. I have a small vendor business and I have seen people purchase certain military items like caps and pins and the buyer is paying way to much because they just don't know where to purchase the item. If the buyer would do just a small search on the Internet they could find the item many times for less money. So not all items are sold for less. |

Personally I think eBay is one big rip off.You " Win" a DVD ,then they charge you six quid for postage ! |

Well, my cousin won an ipod shuffle after buying one thinking she wouldnt win it so she sold it cheap on eBay... Maybe Someone got given it or won it and already owned one or didnt want it. That would make sense |

If you buy in bulk you can benefit from economies of scale. Also, the mark up outside of ebay in shops, etc, is massive. |

The first clue is the word "Game". You obviously are referring to a video game that is new to the market and probably is a hot seller. Well guess what, all those supposedly NIB name brand games that go for huge discounts are pirated copies, usually well made from Asian countries that specialize in pirated software. Yes, you will find even some local sellers that sell that crap. The worst part is that usually the game will work and no one is the wiser. The old adage is "If it looks like a too good to be true deal" then it probably is. Pirated, Fake software and DVD's or CD's from Asia. |

not everything is cheaper. But the items that are good bargains and brand new, more often than not come from a big warehouse, they advertise on ebay rather than selling their items to a shop. - They cut out the middle man.
Hope this helps. x |

My comment is that you should go to school and learn to write English using correct grammar, punctuation and spelling. |
