Because these days, everyone seems to be bent on outward appearance. To get due respect and attention, they need to look good and that enhances their confidence. |

what if you look messy, will you feel comfortable about yourself? will you have confident to face people around you?..The answer's no, am I right??..so that's basically the reason why teenagers beautify themselves..I mean we...I'm teen..hehe |

blame it all on the media!!
Teens minds aren't socially developed as much as adults therefore all they know is what they haved learned. Same reason teen girls date attractive boys even if those boys are mean to them. Also, looking attractive is a strong sign that you are healthy, mindful and take care of yourself.
If you see someone who dresses well you tend to see them as positive. And if you see someone who is a complete mess you'd think negatively towards them.
If you were walking down the street and see a man in a clean suit and another in raggedy clothes who'd you be more wary of?
How about if you see a woman in a nice dress and another wearing a dress but there are dirty stains all over it who'd be the more attractive one? |

They worry so much because some people tease and bully them about what they look like and they get pressured into looking thinner.
I blame celebrities because that is who teenagers look up to and what they do. |
