Our constitution forbids your rights to infringe on others rights. We all have a right to persue Happiness here in the Good Ole USA. If you take your life, although you may not agree, Many will suffer great pain. It is a permanent solution to a temporary problem and it never solves the problem only spreads it.

In most places it's illegal to help someone else end their own life, unless you are a doctor in a place like Oregon or Holland and follow certain guidelines.
In other places it's illegal to "attempt to kill yourself." Generally speaking, however, it's not illegal to actually kill yourself.
So I hope you are not actually thinking of killing yourself because most people who try fail. In which case your may well have broken the law (since they will say "you attempted to kill yourself"), and you will likely be forced to go into some type of therapy which won't be much fun and then you will really want to kill yourself. So if that's on your mind, get some help first. |

It's not illegal, though a person who fails will be remanded to a mental facility for evaluation.
Most people who attempt suicide don't actually want to die or are in a distressed mental state which clouds their judgment. That is why it is actively prevented when possible.
In addition, physician-assisted suicide (for the terminally ill) is mostly illegal because opponents believe it is an abrogation of the Hippocratic oath. The physician is killing the patient. Those who say physician-assisted suicide should be legal argue that it's not murder because the victim gives consent. |
