I really believe that the reason we have not had a female president is the country is not ready to let go of old traditions and move forward.
Through out history men have been the rulers and women have had to stand by their man. A lot of this comes from our religious teachings. It has only been the past 10 - 15 years where female pastors are becoming accepted. The majority of people who vote are older and still have that old fashion tradition mentality.
Our country is afraid of change. It is afraid to move forward and it is afraid to admit that it could do better.
I do not believe that just because we have a female president that the world will be a better place to live. The women would have to be strong and a good leader.
I am hoping that the first female president will be Black and Gay!!!! that way we can shatter all the boundaries in one big Swoop! |

about 82 yrs ago the women in USA go the right to vote, but only 50 years ago did women in Colombia get the right to vote, there are still countries that do not give women the right to vote, and some countries just recently (20 or less years ago) gave women the right to vote.
that is the reason why almost all countries are run by men,
but things are turning around..
Chile, Germany, and about 4 or 5 more countries are being run by women!!

They just dont convey power and strength well enough to the people.
But there are women who have been rulers of their countries, and many women change and make the world a better place. Mother Theresa is an example of one of the most well known PEOPLE on Earth to have helped change the world |

Actually, your question is erroneous. Since 1970, over fifty women have become Premiers, Prime Ministers or Presidents, all around the world. There are currently over 11 women heads of state in office.
Everywhere, around the world, women are leading their countries. Several pundits have touted the idea that the next U.S. Presidentital race will be between Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton.
It won't be long before there is a woman President of the United States. Hopefully they will make the world a better place. |
