There are several reasons for lies, all of which do not make sense.
1- A lie will protect another (or the liar) from a harmful truth.
2- The person is a pathological liar.
3- The person is lying to get attention.
4- The person doesn't have a clue what the actual truth us. |

to avoid having to tell the truth and offend someone even though they want the truth "they can't handle the truth!" then you lie so you won't get into trouble. It's wrong to lie, but sometimes you gotta do it because people are afraid of the truth and if you tell it to them they go baloney! |

My sister did it when she was a kid - lying for no apparent reason. She's 47 now and I think with her it's become an ingrained behavior - a bad habit. |

Some people are scared of things or what other people might think of them so they lie to cover themselves. I think it has a lot to do with insecurity. |

My ex husband lied so much he began to believe himself,I always told him when you tell one lie ,you have to tell another to cover the last one up.To this day he still lies.I have told some untruths to keep from hurting peoples feelings,but 9 times out of 10 ,even if it meant I might lose something,or be in trouble,I tell the whole truth,no matter what.Its better to be honest up front,and suffer the consequences right then,than to lie ,and be found out later,and suffer for the it,and the lie later on. |

I just watched this last night on tv I dont know why I did but there was a show on about the brain. There are white and gray neutrons. The more white neutrons your brain has the more of chance you are a liar or a pathological liar. Thats why the people that lie and come can come up with things right off the top of thier heads are so good at it (because they have alot of white matter -neutrons- in the brain) |
