There are infinite deaths from alcohol from car accidents to fighting to poisining. When marijuana is a calming natrual herb that produced from the earth and is credited for help in medical instances, and its sideaffects are nowhere near cigarettes and alcohol. I mean sleeping, eating and any activity is better under the influence of it. You generally arent hostile but, cool in attitude. the only deaths are idiots that kil over money and the sell of it because of criminals. They should illegalize cigs and some consumption of liquor....WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Based on the HUGE trade deficit in the drug market, and the dollars spent fighting a losing war against drugs, and illeagal sales funding gang activity, I say let's make ALL drugs leagal and controlled like booze. Sure some folks will overdose initially, but after a while things will calm down. |

The government gets a lot of money from taking down people who have marijuana. Alcohol and cigarettes were once illegal because the government wanted more moo-lah, but it didn't work out very well, because people started breweries illegally and so the government LOST money.
Marijana is actually far less dangerous than alcohol and cigarettes really are. |

Personally, I don't think any of the above are a good idea at all. Except alcohol, as long as you don't overdo it. I would say because marijuana impairs your judgement. But then, so does alcohol, when not enjoyed responsibly. I say legalize it. |

Well if you are really looking for an objective response and not just additional support for your personal/political point of view, I would say the answer (at least as far as the legality of the issue is concerned) is very simple. ...Although Nicotine (i.e. the major active ingredient in cigarettes) and alcohol are by far potentially more "addictive" and arguably at times even more destructive than the active ingredient in Marijuana, namely delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (or simply THC), Marijuana is a considerably more powerful hallucinogenic, mood and behavioral altering drug than the other two. Not to mention that, countless epidemiological studies have shown that Marijuana is, without a doubt, a gateway drug leading, in a large number of users, to much harder (illicit and/or controlled) substance abuse/additions. Needless to say, Marijuana being a naturally occurring plant has also been shown to offer a number of medicinal benefits (under controlled laboratory, clinical and/or R&D settings) as well - but that's an altogether different story. |

I think the laws were made by all th upetty oldtimers who didn't smoke herb but smoked ciggs & enjoyed their boose.It will take more people dying from alcohol abuse themselves & others and people dying off from lung cancer & all the other nice things caused from smoking. In all honesty It is all Politics. They make more money with it being illegal. Im sure its expensive when purchased for medical reasons, as any medication. But in all actuality on the street it is quite inexpensive. Being sold legally only doctors and pharmacies make the buck, but by being sold illegally the state and goverment make the buck from the busts. |

I like getting stoned every now and then too, but remember, getting stoned has many more drastic effects than having a cigarette or a few drinks does. I wouldn't want to be in a public place full of stoned people. |

Because Marijuana is an Anatomous Drug. It was made from another country, and wasn't supposed to be shipped to America. The police have yet found many marijuana products coming from areas of south mexico. The areas that are least found of the drugs are probably cancun, etc. Alcohol can be responsible. This means you can drink, and if your old enough, most of the time, you'll know when to stop. The only reason cigarrettes are here is because of the big bucks! |
