You are not the first person who does this. A friend of mine thought it was a good idea. He ended up getting bored and went to sell vegetables instead. |

According to the demand. I saw a wresting figure on ebay(John Cena) go for $30.00 when they had them at Walmart for $14.97.So who knows.I would think it would be best to buy wholesale if you plan on reselling items to make a profit. |

It depends on if there is a demand for what you are going to sell. I would check on ebay first and see how much what you are going to sell is selling for on there, and then you should be able to tell if you are going to make a profit or not.
Answer in short, do your homework first before buying anything to re-sell. |

Depends what you are trading in.
I made £1000 clear profit a year ago in 6 months trading on ebay, I only did it as a bit of fun and only a couple of hours a week.
If you want to make a living out of it you will have to work very, very hard. |

Maybe, but if you got some stuff from the past that is considered an antique then you might get a lot of money for it. It also depends, if you try to sell an item that you bought for a cheap price, if it's on high demand and highly needed. |

Absolute cr*p, very few people make a decent profit on ebay, most make a profit on some items they sell, but thats just a handfull of items, you wouldnt be able to earn a living from it, unless you sold in huge volume, which is kind of impossible to get hold of the necessary stock and you'll be so tired and bored at the end of the week trying to squeeze $10 profit off every sale, its just not feasible. And if you get hold of the stock, 3 competitors come along with the same stock and your profits falls by 75%. Ebay is just temporary profit, you cant make a long term living from it, you'll probably sell something profitably for 6 weeks and then find it becomes totally unprofitable and you'll end up selling it at a loss. Then you have to find something else to sell, its all about momentum and spotting trends and taking advantage of it unless youve got a niche market but of course, anybody can copy what you do. Its something to do if you work study or work part time, but cant make a living solely from ebay because ebay doesn't have many real buyers, just lots of cheap skates who wont pay a decent price, thats why most people who think they can make a good profit on ebay, fail miserably, there arent that many items that sell well on ebay, those that do are short term |
