You need to have a piece that's obviously more than 50 percent of the original bill in order for a bank to give you another bill. Otherwise, you might have to mail it to the Treasury to see if they'll replace it for you. |
|

Alex Kolan
|
sorry but no but if you have the other have and tape them together then they will accept it |

I'm not sure if a bank will but the government might. Currency is considered mutilated if:
* NOT CLEARLY more than one-half of the original note and/or,
* in such condition that the value is questionable and special examination is required to determine its value.
According to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, mutilated United States currency may be exchanged at face value if:
* more than 50% of a note identifiable as United States currency is present; or,
* 50% or less of a note identifiable as United States currency is present, and the method of mutilation and supporting evidence demonstrates to the satisfaction of the Treasury that the missing portions have been totally destroyed. |

 |
No, if they did, you could cut a $100 bill and get $200 out of it. I've heard if you have MOST of a bill, they'll take it, but it would probably be a case by case situation. |
