Anything I've seen on the news about it says that they think the stimulus will come in the form of money to state and local governments for road work and such, so they can hire people to the work. In that way they can create jobs and therefore 'stimulate' the economy.

We have already had a stimulus check this year. Also, according to the papers, Obama is planning on using another $850 billion towards stimulus next year, if (a mighty big if) it can get approved through congress. The best bet is to wait and see.
