Lower salary, unlimited overtime. At least you get paid for every hour you work for. High salary means they can make you work 60 hours a week but you get paid the same amount. If you don't have the time to spend your salary, then it ain't worth it. |

what is their problem if they get to work less but get the same amount of money? people are always looking for something to complain about. |

The salary people are probably putting in more than 40 hours on a regular basis. Most salary people are expected to; that is why the companies pay them more. So in all actuality someone working 60 hours and getting overtime pay for 20 of those hours might make more money than a salary person who worked the same 60 hrs.
For example: Say a salary person earns $600 a week (regardless of hours) which figures out to be $15 hr if they work only 40 hours. ($600/40=$15). But if they work 60 hours their pay would only be $10 per hour. ($600/60=$10).
Now say the hourly person only earns $9 hr. If they work the same 60 hrs they would earn $630. (regular time $9x40=$360, overtime $13.5x20=$270)(360+270=$630)
I personally would rather not work more than 40 hours period. So I would probably choose to earn more as a salary and just try to work the least amount of hours possible (and still get the job done). |

Id rather get the higher salary and no OT. But my reason for it is that money isnt everything and when you work too much you have less time for family and other things you may want to do. |

Higher salary, no overtime otherwise you are always stressed that you have to make up your salary by doing loads of overtime. It is important for good health not to overwork and stress your body, so ultimately your health would suffer if you were using your leisure time to work because you had to. It could also cause rifts in relationships because of the amount of time spent working and lower salaries puts a strain on relationships too. |

Overtime is given to manufacturing shop floor workmen whose salary are les and normaly paid on hourly basis, while office guys have certain other perks and better salary. The company can give incentives to them to take care of the anomaly's
Many companies have incentives to take care of everybody. |
