I thought I knew my best friend, but they have a horrible, unmentionable habit that has corrupted them and a lot of our nation... i know they need help, but would you press charges? |

And, reexamine your personal security and organization.
How did they get access and information to your accounts ! That is scary.
And, after you file a Police report, contact a Credit reporting company (experian,trans union, etc.) and file a fraud alert. This will help you protect your credit history. |

Do you know for sure that your friend did it and do you know how? If so, have you asked your friend to return the money? I don't think I'd press charges if it was an old friend, but I'd tell the person that until he or she got help for the addiction and owned up to the theft that you will not have any more communication. |

yes, i would press charges. if they need help, that will definitely get them there safely were you can have an intervention. this doesn't mean you have to prosecute, the charges can always be dropped. |

I would make sure this is the person who did this, and give a chance of restitution, then part friendship, if nothing was paid back. And tell them why you were parting friendship. A firend in need of help is a friend indeed. This person needs help to think about what they did. |
