That Girl
Would you take this easy high paying job?
I'm 17, my father is over protective and doesn't want me getting a job somewhere.. So, he told me if I clean the house everyday or 5 times a week 1-2hours each time.. He'll pay me $500 a week.. or Should still try convinving him to let me have a job somewhere else? What do you think? Take it.. or leave it??
Additional Details
Yeah, I think he has serious issues as well. The job I wanted is at starbucks.. 7.50 an hour here, max 4-5hours a day. They don't hire people full time. He's scared someone is going to drive through and shoot me.. lmao He's an over protective freak like that.. he watches the news too much.

You'll have more luck getting jobs in the future if you get out and get real work experience now. So you don't feel cheated out of that money, ask if he'll use that to help pay for you to go to college, or, if he's already willing to pay for you to go to college or if you aren't going, maybe he could give you the money to use for something else. If he really wants the house cleaned that badly, you could probably fit that in in addition to a part-time job someplace else. Tell him that you're becoming an adult and need to get experience supporting yourself.

Def--take the cleaning job! It's stuff you'd have to do for free anyway! :) Your dad just wants you to enjoy your youth! There's plenty of time for you to work later! This way, you're free to have fun whenever you want! You don't have to stick to someone else's schedule...After you clean, you can see your friends! OR, if you still want a "job" consider volunteering somewhere! Whether you're serving soup at a soup kitchen, being a Sunday school teacher, playing piano at an old folks home, joining Habitat for Humanity, the options are endless! It's great life experience and you'll meet new people from all walks of life! Good luck! :)

Do me real hard
Hell yeah i do it

wow...first of all i think it will be VERY hard to clean 1-2 hours a day for five days but 500$ a week...all i can say is holy s-hit.
I would take it and see how it works and if it doesnt you an always try to get another job

he wants to keep you from the world. Your not going to learn from easy money. take control of your life. I would personally take the offer, but thats because ive been through two jobs (im 16) and see that work sucks. :D

well most people have to do that for free, so i would take it. If you can find a job at 17 that pays more than $40 an hour more power to you.

If you want to be totally controlled by him, go ahead and take it. If you want to be your own woman, and mature to be able to take care of yourself, don't take it.

***** yeah take it. I bust my a ss 4 days a week for like 7 hours each and dont even (if baaaaarely) graze $200. Youre severely messed up if you dont take it.

Yay, Stickboy!
You're asking if you should take a job that pays between $40 and $100 dollars an hour? You must really passionate about working a register.
You dad sounds like he has some serious issues... or serious money.

It makes sense to not want to be at home all the time. But like you said, hey, it's at most 2 hours a day. Then you can take that $100 you earned that day and go with your friends to Starbucks. $100 should be enough to buy coffee for around 5 people ;).

Yayness89
$500 a week. Only 1-2 hours a day!?!?

Hell yeah I'd take it... go for it!! lol

omg, totally take that job, I would totally take it 500 bucks a week, thats like 5 times what you would make at starbucks. Besides, someone told me that you have to be 19 to work there.
