£20 old and battered... help?
I have a £20 note it has quite a few wholes in it, and was ripped in half. I have managed to stick it back together with celotape, but it has a few bits missing. Would this be refused in shops or if i tried to change it at a post office? thanks

As long as the serial number is intact it should be fine.

As long as it is a real note then you can take it to any bank and they will change it for a new £20 note free of charge. I think the post office does it too but im not 100% sure

i doubt a shop would take it, try the bank of england cos they take old notes and coins they might swap u for a new £20 note

It should b ok as long as you have the serial numbers on it and the silver strip. My dog had a habit of eating money when he was smaller and he once chewed up a £10 which i managed to stick back together. I took it into my bank and payed it into my account and that was fine. Another time he actually swallowed a £20 which my husband retrieved ( he drew the short straw!) and cleaned in a bucket of water, he then put all the pieces back together and actually used it to pay for something!!!!

You can get a 'mutilated note' form from the Post Office.

Fill it out, send it off with said note and they'll send you 20 quid !
