*GOTH-ANGEL* | About wal-mart, do you really save money? |
|
|

You do, because they tell their suppliers 'I will buy more if you sell me less.' To which the suppliers say yes, because their goal is to sell more. Since WalMart bought more for less, they can sell for less.
There's more to why WalMart saves money. *** If you don't care about politics then quit reading and be happy knowing that you do save money at WalMart.
***
WalMart can also afford to save you more because they pay their employees pitifully and have bad benefits. (See also:recent immigrant scandal.)
WalMart can also afford to save you money, because all of their competition has no chance, thus many people start shopping at WalMart and WalMart only. This happened at my hometown. SuperWalMart replaced the regular WalMart they had in the mall and now that's the only place anyone goes to buy anything. Mom and Pop stores are no more, and if they are, it's only because the family is wealthy enough to keep it open. Most of the bussiness fronts in the community are empty unless they are restaurants. Albertson's and other grocery stores are completely empty and there is one grocery store that has had three diffrent grocery stores in it's building in less than ten years.
WalMart is a great place to save money, as long as your conscience can handle it. WalMart is easily one of the top most corrupt corporations of our day.
That is my opinion.
PS:Their produce section is a farce. |

I say go to Costco, I shop their and thats what I call cheap, like 1200 q-tips, jumbo size toothpaste bottles(now thats what I call bulk)but I dont understand how you save if you spend like $200 and up everytime I go their lol, wierd right. |

It depends on what you buy at Walmart. They do raise their prices on things just like the other stores do. I have seen that happen with Folgers Instant coffee(8 oz) and already baked pies in the bakery. |

for some things, yes, like men's swimming trunks,
but watch out for tricks. Mouthwash for example, I saw it just a very few cents cheaper than another store, but later realized the other store's bottle had a full litre, and walmart's was less than a litre, 800 ml or so... similar low price but they made the bottle smaller. |

OH YEAH YOU DO. I USED TO BE A MANAGER THERE. THEY ARE TAKING AWAY FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT DOWN HERE IN MY TOWN. SO THAT MEANS NO RAISES, VACATION, SICK TIME, INSURANCE ALL GONE.NO LIE. SO OF COURSE THEY CAN START LOWERING PRICES BECAUSE THEY REALLY DONT HAVE TO PAY ANYONE. |

yes. they pay their workers next to nothing to pass the savings on to YOU, the customer :-) |

My experience has been that their prices are extremely competitive on most everything; some categories more than others. For electronics, entertainment items (music CDs, DVDs, etc), and automotive items they offer extremely low prices. For clothing, you can dress your family very inexpensively, but you're not to score any major style points. For groceries, I have found it better to buy elsewhere. |

To tell you the truth, when it has to do with food shoppin, you save more in Winn - Dixie than in Walmart |

A couple years ago, when I had to move my daughter into her college apartment far, far, far out-of-state (too far to drive), I thought I'd be able to do one-stop shopping and save money at a Wal-Mart. I grabbed a microwave, toaster oven, microwave cart and more. They weren't the best models, but I was in a rush to settle her in. Then as I started to go around to other places as we discovered other items we needed to buy, I found better models of those initial items at lower costs at other stores. So I wound up wasting tons more time returning every Wal-Mart item. I saved money and my daughter had much nicer merchandise. Many of my best purchases were made at Target. |

Yes, if you know your prices--and check all your local ads. Sometimes items may be on sale elsewhere for less than the Walmart rollback. |

Generally yes. The difference between Wal-Mart and ofter stores is that they have their own truck distribution service. They do not have to pay another company for distribute their goods. This is significant because that other company has expenses and must make a profit and that is added into the cose of goods at other retailers. Recently Target has started their own distribution system like Wal-mart, but wal-mart is still better in most cases/ |

if you check the things that are on the sale isle, then maybe but I don't really think that they are all that cheap. I should know I work for them. |

Yes. Wal-Mart is so wealthy that it can substantially undercut the competition.
That said . . . I no longer shop at Wal-Mart because what I may save financially, I lose in sanity. |
